Saturday dawned bright and early. Teresa, Pigley, Judy and myself were able to get up before breakfast so as to be ready for the rest of the attendees. One by one they arrived .... Susan (ab_quilting), our Fearless Leader; Debbie (NiksGal), raconteur and entrepreneur extraordinaire; Christine (CThresh), designer of the bouncing boob block swap. :-)
As we waited for each successive person to make her personal appearance, we talked incessantly and continually about everything under the sun. No topic was too sacred, bizarre or taboo. Truly .. some amazing things were heard by all... some of it was even coherent. :-)
Here is Susan, Debbie and Pigley. God know WHAT Pigley is doing ... she was constantly underfoot, snorting and making disparaging remarks about everyone. I think she might have been trying to filch something from someone's totebag here, but was caught in the act.
Here is proof positive that at least SOMEONE was actually sewing this weekend! Debbie is doing an incredible needle-turn applique (she uses freezer paper underneath for a crisp edge). Judy is working on her pinwheels. In the background, Susan is ratchet-jawing to Pigley and Teresa ... although all you can see is Teresa's legs. Hmmm .. come to think of it, I think only Teresa's legs were there ... there rest of her was OTL. :-)
Pigley, Teresa (with body this time) are working on their portable hand-stitched projects. Pigley's project is a wonderful green tumbling block done with precision cut paper templates. Her sewing is absolutely precisely done, a surprising feat, considering that holding a needle with cloven hooves is kinda tricky. Teresa is doing a fussy-cut Grandmother's Flower Garden. Each petal of the flower has a cute fabric motif centered on it. Between each flower shape is solid blue fabric forming a scattering of colorful flowers in a blue meadow. No, I don't have a picture of it. :-( Judy is kibitzing with Pigley and Teresa about something. See one of the bra blocks on the table next to Judy? That comes from the swap that Christine started. A link that shows more of the bra blocks is listed on the last page, at Susan's site. |
