Bananas and California Poppies

Date made: August 2005

The banana theme was an on-going, in-joke on the chat channel .. so I collected LOTS of banana fabric. The California poppies references me (the quilter) and the fact that the parents lived in California for a brief time. The flannel backing has airplanes, which ties in with the Dad's profession .. USAF pilot (formerly active duty, now Reserves) and Fed Ex second officer.

I was also able to find quite a few banana embroideries .... who knows what possesses people to digitize stuff like this, but they do and I am very grateful! So, I put those embroidered banana designs in the corners of the quilt. The 3 banana designs came from The Internet Site; the Bananas in Pajamas design came from Knitting-and.com.
